Take a 2-minute timed test using Lesson 26, 27, 28, 29 or 30 unless another lesson is specified as you come in to class. Remember, you can backspace and correct errors to improve your accuracy!
Open your Typing Spread Sheet in Excel.
Record the Date of the class, Words Per Minute, Errors & Calculated Speed on your Typing Spread Sheet.
Go in to Mavis Beacon and work on lessons for 10 minutes. Remember you are concentrating on your technique while in Mavis Beacon!
At the end of the 10 minutes, record your Daily Technique Score (0-10) on your Typing Spread Sheet based on the following (add up your points for all categories):
Posture (0-3 points): 3 points if your posture is always correct or almost always correct, 2 points if your posture is usually correct, 1 point if your posture is sometimes correct, 0 points if your posture is never or almost never correct.
Hand Positioning & Fingering (0-3 points): 3 points if always or almost always correct, 2 points if usually correct, 1 point if sometimes correct, 0 points if never or almost never correct.
Accuracy (0-3 points): 3 points if you had 0 errors on your timed test, 2 points if you had 1 error on your timed test, 1 point if you had 2 or 3 errors on your timed test, 0 points if you had more than 3 errors on your timed test
Eyes on Screen (0-1 point): 1 point if eyes are usually on the screen and not on your hands, 0 points if eyes are often on your hands.

What is correct technique? Remember:
Posture - feet flat on the ground (both yours and your chair's!), back straight but not uncomfortably rigid (no slouching though), elbows naturally at your side
Hand Positioning & Fingering - Fingers slightly curved & on homerow, palms & wrists low but not touching keyboard, fingers anchored on homerow, use the correct fingers for typing

Every day when you get to class:
